ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Zane State College takes over Maysville High School.

Friday 9 College Credit Plus teachers and 7 Zane State College faculty members gave Maysville students a taste of college life.

“It’s getting students an advance on gaining college credit. This program it completely free for the student. They’re able to start as early as 7th grade. Most of the students are usually 10th graders, 11th graders, and 12th graders. They are accumulating credits forward a degree at Zane State College. Or it can be transferred to another university,” said Zane State College Director of Secondary and Strategic Initiatives Dr. Larisa Harper.

College Credit Plus is a statewide program that brings college credit opportunities to students in grades 7 through 12.

“This is great. This is a long time coming. It gets our Zane State professors in here with our Maysville high school teachers collaborating. And just showing the students what life on Zane State campus is like and college courses in general,” said Maysville High School Principal Jason Bunting.

Dr. Harper said the Maysville students really enjoyed the Zane State College take over.
