Organizers prepare for “A Storybook Christmas”

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Muskingum County is gearing up for another “Storybook Christmas.”
This event kicks off with the lighting of the courthouse in downtown Zanesville on November 30th. This year’s Storybook Christmas will feature new storybook characters.
“Elf on the Shelf that is going to be moved Friday to Friday to different locations,” Community Volunteer, Rick Mautez said. “If you get a selfie with the elf, you then can be entered in a drawing for a prize at the end of the season.”
The neat thing about this event is it incorporates both new and vintage pieces. Mid-East Career and Technology Center students gave some of the vintage pieces some much needed TLC.
“They took all the old lights off. They painted them. The CNET students rewired all four of the doves. The high school welding and the adult welding programs have done many of the lights, that you’ll see up this year downtown, on Fifth Street, Sixth Street, Main Street and down at Zane Landing,” Taylor said.
