Muskingum County Center for Seniors Update

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Officials for Muskingum County Center for Seniors met with the Muskingum County Commissioners on the status for the building.
The commissioners were updated on the finishing process of the building and equipment. Brian Addis, the architect for the Senior Center said this isn’t the final meeting with the commissioners;  they’ll meet until everyone feels they can comfortably sign all the paperwork.
“With most construction projects such as this one,” said Addis. “We’re still finishing up some outstanding last-minute items trouble shooting some things with the plumbing with the sanitary, but they’ll be taken care of in a timely fashion.”
Once the current items are worked out and the last of the supplies are shipped in the commissioners will be able to sign the final paperwork. Addis said the Senior Center ended up not costing as much as originally planned.
“We re-purposed an existing building which is always a good thing in a community, which adds value to the community as opposed to new construction,” said Addis. “A.E.P. Business and insinuative program working hand and glove with them we were able to get valuable dollars rebated from their A.E.P. Business Rebate program.”
The Muskingum County Center for Seniors officially opened their doors last September. Addis said this is an exciting time for the Seniors for the openness of the building will allow multiple programs to happen.
