Lancaster Man Dies from Injuries
The State Highway Patrol reports a man who was injured in a Monday afternoon accident has died.
In a press release the patrol said 21-year-old Cody Knox, of Lancaster, succumbed to his injuries Thursday morning at OSU Medical Center.
Troopers said the accident Knox was in took place Monday around 4:40 p.m. in the Village of Thurston in Fairfield County.
According to authorities Knox was traveling south on High Street in a red 1992 Dodge Dakota when the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, drove left of center, off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.
The patrol said following the crash Knox was flown by Air Evac to OSU Medical Center, where he died.
Troopers said a passenger in the vehicle 54-year-old Billy Paskins, of Lancaster, was also flown by Air Evac to OSU Medical Center where he is currently in stable condition.
The patrol believes alcohol to be a factor in the crash that remains under investigation.
The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Walnut Township Fire Department.
