Christ’s Table is overjoyed by the generosity of the community

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Thanks to generosity of the community Christ’s Table is able to host its annual Thanksgiving feast.
Christ’s Table served roughly 450 meals Thursday. Executive director, Keely Warden is overwhelmed by the support of the community.
“We could not do this without the help of our wonderful community,” Warden said. “We had so many people that brought turkeys, pumpkin pies, whipped cream, and everything that goes with Thanksgiving dinner. It’s an out pouring of love. It’s so good for those that we serve, because it shows them that there are people in this community who truly care.”
Without the help of the community and volunteers none of this would be possible. Warden said they’ve received so many requests to come in and help they had to actually turn people away.
“That’s the hard part here at Christ’s Table, when you have to say no to a volunteer. But we want our volunteers to have a good experience. And so, we will only take so many volunteers this day, because we want everyone to feel like had that hands on experience. We started about 3 weeks ago telling people there was no room in the end. That’s the hardest part when you have people that truly want to help. I had all types of people from the community. We had the Jaycees. We want to put a big shout out to them. They delivered all of our home bound meals today so that our home bound drivers could have the day off,” Warden said.
