ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The day after Thanksgiving is viewed as the biggest shopping day of the year. We stopped by a local business to see what Black Friday had in store for them.

Wade’s Clothing and The Boutique located on Maple Avenue. Wade’s is a locally owned and operated business. We spoke to store owner, Star Pickrell about the impact of Black Friday on local businesses.

“We had lots of traffic here this morning,” Pickrell said. “We have a little lull right now, but I’m sure it’s going to be busy later on. It’s been really good. We normally open at 10 a.m. We opened up the doors early. We had costumers in. We have a coupon that’s been (circulating). You get half off of an originally priced item.”

The coupon is valid for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

“Saturday is small business Saturday. So come out and support the local community, because you support the whole economy when you do that. Instead of buying everything online. I know it’s much easier just to shop online, but it’s nothing like coming in trying it on. We offer that personal touch. We like to help you. We gift wrap. We make shopping easy,” Pickrell said.

Wade’s is now open through Sundays for the Christmas season.
