As the Thanksgiving holiday came to an end some local dancer prepared for a Christmas tradition.

Muskingum Youth Performing Arts was rehearsing for their performance of the Nutcracker at Secrest Auditorium on Sunday November 27, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Assistant Artistic Director of the Muskingum Youth Performing Arts, Morgan Lothes-Rahn said this is an annual event that she always looks forward to.

“I think they love it, I use to perform in the Nutcracker when I was their age and it was of my favorite things to do, but I think they love it,” Lothes-Rahn said.

Lothes-Rahn said there are about 82 dancers from the Muskingum County Area performing in the two act ballet and they have been practicing since September.

“I think it’s going to be an amazing show,” said Lothes-Rahn. “I think it’s one of the best we put on and we have a bunch of new costumes; we have really great dancers who are having a lot of fun. They’ve worked really hard and we really appreciate the communities support. So we hope to see you there.”

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Secrest Auditorium and Flair Dance Boutique located at the Colony Square Mall for $10.00. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $15.00, for more information call the Muskingum Youth Performing Arts at (740) 868-2196
