Hunters get ready for Ohio deer season

CHANDLERSVILLE, Ohio – Monday starts deer hunting season in Ohio and all around the state hunters are getting ready.
Out at the Zanesville Rifle Club marksmen set their sites on their guns to prepare for hunting season. Club President Don Pagath said that hunters from states all around the country come to the Rifle Club this weekend to set their sites for free.
Pagath said safety is the most important factor when it comes to hunting.
“There was a guy yesterday that came in and said ‘this is the first time I’ve had my gun out since last year.’ A lot of things change. Sites can be bumped. Your eyesight changes. So it’s very important that your site is good and you’re are still hitting your target properly,†said Pagath.
Deer hunting season in Ohio runs till next Sunday. Many schools in the area are letting out for at least one day. Pagath said that hunting season is something he always looks forward to.
“It’s a big day in Muskingum County. Love getting out in the woods. It’s not really about bagging the deer. It’s really about the memories that you make going out and hunting,†said Pagath.
