An 11-year-old female could face criminal charges and school sanctioned discipline, after threats were made against students and a Licking County Middle School.

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office said on Sunday they received complaints of harassment from families with children who were female students at Watkins Middle School.

Authorities said during the investigation they learned the text messages contained threats of bodily harm, as well as threats to bomb the whole Southwest Licking School District.

Investigators learned the threats originated from one of the several “victims” in the incident. During an interview she admitted to sending all of the texts and is not believed to have any means or intent of carrying out the threats.

Charges are being presented to the Licking County Juvenile Prosecutor on Monday.
