Active Shooter Scene Secure at Ohio State University

***UPDATE*** Ohio State University says scene of active shooter is secure and shelter-in-place order lifted. ***UPDATE***

Authorities are investigating reports of shots fired at the Ohio State University in Columbus. There is a report of an active shooter on the campus.  There have been evacuations on campus.  The reports of shots fired occurred around 9:30 a.m. at Watts Hall at 19th and College.  The University has sent out a tweet that an active shooter is on campus and students should “run hide fight”.  A fire official on the scene has told a Columbus reporter that eight people were taken to area hospitals for treatment of various injuries. There is also a report of a suspect being shot and killed. It is not clear if authorities are searching for a second suspect. The public is being asked to stay away from the university while the incident is investigated.  The shelter in place has been lifted on the OSU campus.  All classes have been cancelled.
