Growing Issues With Heroin

Heroin overdoses have been on the increase for the past few years because of its availability and low cost.

We visited the Muskingum Behavioral Health on Monday to talk to CEO Steve Carrel about some of the statistics in the area.

“I ran some numbers earlier today and in 2012 we have 37 clients admitted for heroin and opiate addiction. For the first three quarters of this fiscal year we have 147 clients,” said Carrel.

Carrel said these numbers will increase unless something is done immediately. At Muskingum Behavioral Health offers numerous programs to help get people back on to the road to recovery.

Carrel said they offer numerous programs to help people beat their addiction and also provides services for family members and love ones of those who are addicted to drugs.
