Artists of the Winding Road To Be Featured in Columbus

Zanesville’s finest artists are headed to the state capital this week to showcase their best work.
The Ohio Arts Council, headquartered in downtown Columbus, has selected seven talented artists from Zanesville and Athens to display their famed pieces at the Riffe Gallery. Throughout the month of April, the exhibit will feature Southeastern Ohio’s best in artistic excellence, including Alan Cottrill and Yan Sun.
“We have Paul Emory, and Michael Seiler who are both painters here in Zanesville, their styles and techniques are wildly divergent, Yan Sun who is a painter of international stature, and John Taylor-Lehman who’s a found object artist,” said curator, Susan Gottlieb.
The exhibit will be open April 7 through April 23 at the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts, across from the Statehouse in Columbus. Admission is free, and hours may vary.
“This is important because it’s a very prestigious venue, it has tremendous foot traffic through the building constantly and these are people who are made aware, it’s a wonderful venue for the legislators to showcase the arts of Ohio,” Gottlieb said.
