Meet Alice; This Week’s Pet of the Week
ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Pet of the week is a sweet feline searching for her purr-fect family.
Meet Alice! She’s a four-month-old domestic short hair cat who’s spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and joins about 60 other kittens waiting for their forever homes.
April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society, says there’s still time to adopt a feline during their “Let Freedom Purrrr” adoption special.
“Alice and all the rest of them here are available at that price,” Gibson said. “Don’t forget our local pet store partner is “We Love Pets”, Miranda and her team do an amazing job up there. We have several kittens up there, we have applications coming in right now so either visit them or come in and see us and adopt a cat. These cats deserve loving homes, it’s not fair to them that someone didn’t take the responsibility and spay and neuter.”
Gibson also says it’s hard to believe but it’s already time for the 7th annual Putt 4 Paws Golf Outing at Green Valley Golf Course.
She says she was a little nervous for this year’s outing, but she is putting full trust in her Treasure of the Board of Directors, Josh Agin.
“We just have a couple limited teams because this year it’s a little bit different, we’ve been talking about it for a couple of months,” Gibson said. “Everybody’s laughing, they know I’m a little bit nervous about it because the first 9 is in the daylight and the second 9 is in the dark. So we’re going to be glowing this year, it’s Saturday, the first Saturday of August. August the 2nd.”
Gibson also wanted to remind pet owners to be weather aware this week and heading into the weekend.
She says to limit your animals’ time out in the heat, keep them off hot surfaces like concrete, and to make sure they have fresh, cool water.
