Winter-like Weather Could Bring Frost to the Garden

Below freezing temperatures Saturday could leave some Ohio residents with concerns for their gardens.
Folks who have planted outdoor flowers, produce, crops and more will be at risk of frost with temperatures reaching near 20 degrees. Steve Carter, Owner of Timber Run Gardens said there isn’t much you can do to prepare for a night like tonight.
“There’s not much that you can do right now. Covering things when the temperatures is that low is not going to do much good. Snow is a good thing if you have a foot of snow over top of it, it’s like an igloo and that really helps. But, just the cold temperatures tonight are scary. We’ve done a lot of protection. And we’ll probably have damage even at that,” said Carter.
Although temperatures will reach below freezing tonight gardeners can expect warmer weather by the end of the week going into the weekend.
