Expanding Recycling

Muskingum County Commissioners met with a local woman to discuss a possible recycling grant
Team Recycle, Owner Jessica Everson met with the county commissioners to discuss a way to help Muskingum County save money and process recyclables here rather than being shipped off.
“I’m looking to expand to offer different services for recycling different products that [are] already being recycled, but to actually process them here in Muskingum County,” said Everson. “So they’re not being sent away at an expensive cost to the county.”
Everson said she would need the county commissioners to help in applying for the E.P.A. Market Development Grant that would be used specifically extending the recycling projects in Muskingum County.
“I would need a sponsor since I’m a private company and all grants go through a public entity to ensure that the money is spent correctly,” said Everson. “They would monitor the progress make sure the facility is coming along as it’s supposed to and then distribute the money in phases as it’s needed.”
The Muskingum County Commissioners are looking into how they can further assist Everson in expanding the recycling in Muskingum County.
