Zanesville Man Sentenced in City Hall Shooting

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–A local man has been sentenced in connection to a shooting at Zanesville City Hall last year.
According to the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office, 40-year-old Patrick Foraker of Zanesville appeared before Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Kelly Cottrill where he received a sentence of 14 years in prison , 6 of those years being mandatory.
Foraker pleaded guilty in July to charges that included three counts of felonious assault with a firearm and one count of inducing panic.
Officials said on February 12, 2024, Foraker arrived at Zanesville City Hall angry about his water being turned off for failure to pay his bill. After leaving the utility office , he returned and fired three shots into the drive-thru payment window.
No one was injured in the incident.
