Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department Hosts Flu and COVID Vaccine Clinic
ZANESVILLE, OH – Flu season is here, and so are the shots to help keep you healthy.
The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health department held one of its flu and COVID vaccine clinics today. Community members were able to stop by the health department for their shots. Staff say they saw even more people than expected, which is great news for community health.
“It’s a little busier than we thought it would be. We have a number of scheduled appointments with people who are pre-registered, and even an hour before we were ready to start, we had walk-ins coming, which we welcome. We’ll try and service as many people as can come.” ZMCHD Medical Director Dr. Jack Butterfield said.
If you missed today’s clinic, there are more opportunities coming up through the end of the month, including this Saturday, October 18th. You can stop by the Licking Township Fire Department to get your vaccines between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Health officials say getting vaccinated is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and those around you from getting sick.
“It’s very important to keep our community as healthy as possible. Vaccine-preventable diseases are out there. COVID and flu are two of those diseases. We want to make sure that as many people as possible and as many people that want the vaccine can get it.” Dr. Butterfield said.
