The United Way Releases New 211 Report

The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties released an update on its 211 report on Wednesday.
According to the report, the organization received more than 700 calls during the month of April through the 211 resource for information call center. Community Impact Director, Becky Clawson said the number one call request for the month of April was for food assistance.
“While we’re working to solve those problems, we’re also seeing an increase in need for utility assistance. Which we’re also looking at creative ways to fund those assistant programs and really help people in the community where we see a large need,” said Clawson.
Clawson said they are also seeing an increase in calls for different summer programming and advises people to call the 211 call center if you also need assistance getting prepared for the summer months.
“Anything from where can my kid go for summer camp or learn to swim to I need help finding a food pantry and getting to that system. 211 can provide you with that information and they even do the zoning for our food pantries,” said Clawson.
211 is always free to call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week . Clawson said there is a new button on their Facebook page that allows folks to simply press it and it’ll connect you directly to their line.
