ZAAP Prepares for it’s 10th Annual Auction

The ‘Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project’ is holding their 10th annual art auction fundraiser.

This event takes place tomorrow and is divided into two parts with a silent auction that runs from 5 p.m to 9 p.m and a live auction that begins at 8:30 p.m. We talked to Erin France, a member of ZAAP who said all members of the art’s project donate a select few pieces of art to be auctioned off in the fundraiser.

"ZAAP is a community gallery. There are a lot of artist that have galleries in town that belong to this gallery as well. Most of them will have things up for auction here tomorrow night, that’s the reason why we start at 8:30 because, we want to give all of them an opportunity to close down their galleries and come here for the auction," said France.

France said there will be over 30 artists involved in the auction on Friday with a wide variety of different art up for grabs.

"This is a great opportunity to pick up great art done by local artist for graduations, there are wedding coming up and it’s just a prefect time to get a gift by a local artist that someone can enjoy in their home for years to come," said France.

France said all of the proceeds from this event helps to keep the doors to gallery open.
