Two Transported in Injury Accident

A two-vehicle accident on the east end of Zanesville sent two people to the hospital Thursday evening.

It happened on Wheeling Avenue shortly before 5 p.m. Ohio State Trooper, Rich Lanning, said Margaret Maxwell drove left of center, struck a utility pole, and hit a pickup truck head-on.

When the State Highway Patrol arrived on scene, Maxwell, along with the driver of a GMC pickup, Jesse Morris, were being transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Lanning said alcohol was a factor in the crash. Maxwell was cited for OVI and failure to control.
