The 29th Annual Motorcyclists for Kids collects toys and donations for local children

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – You can find motorcycles, toys, and Santa at Walmart on Nov. 1 for the 29th Annual Motorcyclists for Kids.
The Rushing Wind Biker Church is hosting Motorcyclists for Kids from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church will collect money and toys for the Salvation Army to give children of low-income families. Church Pastor Michael McGuire hopes to see anywhere from 400 to 500 motorcycles pull into the Walmart parking lot on Maple Avenue. From there, bikers will parade to the Salvation Army to deliver the donations collected.
“… we love to bring the motorcycle community together. So a great event that allows us to be able to bless the, like I said, the most underprivileged children in this area. And it also brings the community out to be able to see the motorcycles and to come see Santa Clause and Mrs. Clause and to be able to donate monetarily and to be able to bring, you know, a toy. Something of that fashion, to be able to bless our children here,” McGuire said.
With 29 years of collecting toys and raising money for local children, McGuire reflects on the humble beginnings of the event compared to where it is now.
“This got started 29 years ago. The first event was held at another location. Six motorcycles and snow and 38 degree weather was our first event,” McGuire said. “So 29 years later it’s grown into several hundred motorcyclists coming together, the community, we have wonderful sponsors and we’re certainly thankful for all those that support what we get. Once again, coming together to support the under privileged children here in Muskingum County and the Zanesville area.”
