ZANESVILLE, OH – If you love trains, there’s a local event rolling into town this weekend that you won’t want to miss.

The Zane Trace National Trail Model Railroad Club is hosting its annual Open House on November 8th and 9th. The free event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and gives visitors a chance to see detailed model train layouts and learn about the club’s latest additions.

“It’s a H.O. scale layout. It is 30 by about 70. The layout can run anywhere from five to seven trains at a time. It is signaled like a real railroad. The signals will tell you to stop, slow down, or proceed as the real ones would.” Treasurer ZTNT, Rick Gooden said.

While admission is free, donations are welcome and help the club keep its trains running and displays growing.

“This is one of the best H.O. model railroad clubs in Ohio. We’re proud of it. It was in a magazine back in 2006. Not many layouts make it to these magazines. So, we’re proud of it.” Gooden said.

The Zane Trace National Trail Model Railroad Club is located at 24 South 6th Street in downtown Zanesville.
