Santa’s North Pole Outpost at Salt Fork State Park

KIMBOLTON, Ohio – The largest state park in Ohio has turned their golf course pro shop into Santa’s North Pole Outpost. Salt Fork State Park saw Santa, hot chocolate, cookie decorating, and a cozy fireplace on Saturday. Guests at the lodge and visitors visited the post for free and those who aren’t staying at the lodge could go for $10 per participant.

“At Salt Fork, we believe in exceeding people’s expectations and one of the ways to do that is to offer these types of events. Something, like I said, for people to do while they’re staying here, something for people in the community to come out and enjoy,” said Christie Bobbitt, sales director at the lodge.

Saturday was the first day of the outpost, but if you missed it, there are two more opportunities with even more events planned for the month.

“There’s one on the 13th of December and one on the 20th of December and then after that we’ll be opening a sled shed,” Bobbitt said. “They’ll be able to sled down the hill outside; we’ll have bonfires that are lit. We’ll have the fire in here lit and there’ll be video games, arcade games, you can get pizza, hot dogs. It’ll be a fun way, something to do in the winter when it’s hard to find things to do.”
