John “Jack” L. Doerr

John “Jack” L. Doerr, 83 of Zanesville died at 6:57 PMÂ Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Zanesville Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born July 19, 1933 on Staten Island, New York the son of Louis John Doerr and Catherine (Alm) Doerr.
Jack was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where he spent many years serving as their financial secretary. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, retired as a testing engineer from NCR in Cambridge after almost 30 years of service and enjoyed playing bridge with the Cambridge Duplicate Bridge Club.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy L. (Placke) Doerr whom he married Nov. 2, 1963; a son, Charles “Chuck” Lawrence (Melissa) Doerr of Knoxville, TN; a daughter-in-law, Rita McCardell Doerr of Crownsville, MD; four grandchildren, Jacqueline Marie Doerr, Stephanie Nicole Doerr, Rebecca Merrill Doerr and Nathan Charles Doerr; as well as several nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a son Thomas “Tom†Stephen Doerr; two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Hansen and Eleanor Erickson; and a half sister, Anna Doerr.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday January 4, 2017 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1330 Pine St. with Pastor Marjorie McDaniel-Burnett officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1330 Pine St. Zanesville Ohio, 43701.
