7 Arrested in Local Drug Bust

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Multiple arrests have been made in a drug bust.

The Muskingum County/Zanesville City Joint Drug Units, Central Ohio Drug Enforcement and Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office announced multiple arrests and indictments of high level drug traffickers in the Muskingum County area on Wednesday.

The arrests started on January 4th and are the result of a 6-month investigation.

“This is a significant case in our area, this investigation has been very extensive,” said Sheriff Matt Lutz with the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office.

The seven arrested were; Gregory L. Butcher aka “Gabby,” Tydell Butcher, Gregory Gibson Jr., Jayana Pantaleo, Derron J. Felder aka “Goldie,” Johnathon Q. Smith aka “Moe” and Ian Poindexter.

Sheriff Lutz said those arrested, if convicted, face sentences from 11 to 55 years.

The drug unit recovered a total of approximately 1750 grams, over 4 pounds, of cocaine and 960 grams, over 2 pounds, of methamphetamine. The street value of the seized drugs totaled $540,000; just over half a million dollars.

“These guys are whats poisoning our communities, these people are ruining peoples lives, they destroy the very fabric of Zanesville and Muskingum County,” said Chief Coury with the Zanesville Police Department.

These people are bringing in ounces and kilo’s and distributing them among our citizens said Sheriff Lutz.

There are still five suspects at large that officials are asking for help with locating: Mario Martinez Claytor aka “Casino,” Jerome A. Johnson aka “J-Roc,” Andrew R. Wilkey, Jerry Lee McDonald and Anthony R. Colston Jr. aka “Dough.”
