ZANESVILLE, Ohio – North Terrace Church of Christ is going to be adding on to their facility starting this spring.

The construction work will be called Vision 20/20 and this represents perfect eye sight as well as the year the church hopes to be done with construction. According to the Vision 20/20 pamphlet the construction will be done in two phases. Phase one will take about 16 months and phase two will start once phase one is adequately funded.

“Now we are almost to 2020, our hundredth anniversary and God has done some great things here,” said Matt Mehaffey, Lead Minister. “We are to a point where we’ve had so much growth, especially in our area of young families. That we literally have to expand to make room for the growth that we’ve experienced.”

Mehaffey said phase one will be the work that focuses on the growth they’ve already experienced.

“Phase one has to do with the growth we’ve already experienced and that’s our christian preschool that we have,” Mehaffey said. “We are at capacity there. So we need to expand our children’s area for our preschool during the week. Also for our church on Sunday mornings.”

“Phase one also has to do with the room I’m standing in right now, we’re going to call it our entrance hall,” said Mehaffey.

Phase two is about the growth that is to come in the future.

“Phase two, we want to provide some incredible things for our community here as well,” Mehaffey said. “Such as an indoor children’s play ground that will have about 80 children being able to use it at a time. A great place where moms, dads, and grandparents can bring their children, as a safe place for preschoolers and elementary aged kids to play.”

Due to the buildings expansion the parking lot will also be expanded around the building.

The first phase is listed as costing around $3, 500, 000 and phase two will cost about $3,000,000.

“We’re even starting to talk to local and community wide foundations and people who just love this community,” said Mehaffey. “Who want to see good things happen in our community and say hey why not partner with us and allowing some of these things to come to fruition. Again we believe in this community, we believe God has great things in store for us.
