ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Flu is widespread in 37 states and the Rambo Memorial Health Center wants to remind the community they still are offering flu shots and for those with a respiratory illness, Rambo also has a program to help.

Rambo Memorial Health Center is open from 8:00 to 4:30 daily and the flu shots can be given to a person aged six and older. Staff Nurse, Joyce Bates said the flu shot will peak in 90 days and then gradually lose effectiveness after that.
“Well flu activity in Ohio typically peaks between January and March,” Bates said. “When you get your flu shot it takes two weeks to get in your body to start to work so there is still plenty of time to get it to help you.”

The flu shot will cost $5.00 for Muskingum County residents and $20.00 for non Muskingum County residents.

Another opportunity Rambo is offering is their Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program to those suffering with respiratory illnesses.
This is a six week program where they can control or reduce breathlessness through increasing Stamina with Exercise.

“Any kind of breathing condition, you can come into Rambo or bring in a prescription from your physician and we can set you up for a consult for the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program,” said Nurse Jennifer Richards. “There is no cost if you’re a Muskingum County resident and like I said a 6 week program. At the end of the program we do take you to the gym and you get a discounted rate for the gym also, for the whole entire year.”

Richards said Rambo offers several different gyms to choose from. For more information check out the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program under the programs tab on rambomemorialhealthcenter.org.
