One Big Charity returns to Colony Square Mall

Zanesville, Ohio- Eastside Community Ministry is hosting their 2nd annual “Chairity” auction this weekend at the Colony Square Mall.
The auction is a play on words and features a wide variety of chairs that include matching incentives. Executive Director of Eastside Community Ministry Jamie Trout explains how the auction works.
“It’s a seal bid auction that will take place all day today until 9pm and then tomorrow again until 7pm. Basically you will get a bidders sheet and you just put down what you would pay for that item, you stick it in an envelope and seal it up so no one can see what you bid and then on Saturday at 7pm we’ll open them all and the highest bidder wins the chair.”
Trout noted there will also be a live auction tomorrow at 4pm consisting of 20 items and will be in remembrance of the founder of the event, Audrey Foster.
“She knew we were looking for that fundraiser that would suit us and she helped us with it the first year. She was sick but it didn’t matter. She still made phone calls, she still went out there and got people involved and so we will continue to honor Audrey each year at our charity auction and her husband Jim will actually be opening up the live auction with a prayer in her honor tomorrow.”
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the programs at Eastside Community Ministries.
