Zanesville Fire Dept promotes new Assistant Fire Chief

Zanesville, Ohio- One Zanesville fireman was honored to receive a promotion this afternoon.

Zanesville Fire Department welcomed a new Assistant Fire Chief this afternoon with the promotion of Jeff Bell. Bell has served with the Fire Department for fifteen years and is excited for his new position.

“It was something I’ve been looking forward to. There’s a long process that goes into it, with the testing and assessments and that. So it’s been very exciting. I’m looking forward to the challenge and it was nice to have all the guys here to kind of celebrate this milestone.”

Bell explained that it will be a privilege to serve those who serve the community.

“That’s something special that I get to work with a bunch of like-minded individuals that are there and their sole purpose in that they want to help people. So taking this step it kind of will be more of a hands off on my own but I get to now look out for the safety of those that are looking out for your safety.”

Bell hopes to be a mentor to his fellow fireman and give them the support and tools to serve the community of Zanesville.
