Richard “Rick” Lee

NEWARK

Richard “Rick” Henry Lee, of Newark, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017. Rick was born September 19, 1951 in Newark, Ohio; he was 65 years old. He was a 1969 graduate of Tri Valley High School and served in the United States Navy. Rick retired from Moorings Park Retirement Community in Naples, FL.

Rick was a jockey for many years and was a former blacksmith and yard foreman for Lumbertown. He also served as Maysville Youth League President, South Zanesville Biddy League Treasurer and coached youth league basketball for many years. Rick enjoyed reading, playing golf and poker, and was also an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State fan.

He is survived by a his mother Dorothy (Bebout) Lee; his wife Sherry (Harmon) Lee; two sons Chad (Heather) Lee of New Albany and Jason (Julie) Lee of Zanesville; three daughters Krisy Baker of Zanesville, Cindy (D.J.) Penrod of Rutledge, TN and Shelly Jackson of Fort Myers, FL; two brothers Jim Lee of Scottsdale, AZ and Bob Lee of Phoenix, AZ; a sister Linda Boesl of Rochester, NY; and 9 grandchildren: Jara, Tripp, Grace, Olivia, Kristopher, Kane, Mackenzie, Dennis and Paige.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee.

Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8PM Thursday, February 23, 2017 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, February 24, 2017, in the Snouffer Chapel. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park with full military honors.
