Police Make Arrests in Sweep
Newark Police along with several other agencies partnered in a sweep to round up suspects wanted in the trafficking of drugs.
During the six hour operations authorities made fourteen arrests.
The coordinated effort began with a list of about thirty wanted individuals known to traffic drugs in the City of Newark and surrounding area.
The operation also reached out to the community and individuals affected by drug abuse. The Newark Police and a member of the Newark Addiction and Recovery Initiative provided information about the program as arrest were being made.
Police hope the round up sends a message to those who deal drugs that they will be arrested and there’s help for those that need it.
Newark Police were assisted by the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force, Licking County Sheriff’s Office, Licking County Adult Probation, and Newark Fire Department .
