Storms Cause Flooding and Power Outages

Officials says thousands of residents around Ohio awoke to power outages damaged homes or downed trees and flooding after thunderstorms battering the Midwest brought heavy rain, high winds and even quarter size hail to some parts of the buckeye state. Here in Muskingum County Bishop Fenwick K-8 and Bishop Rosecrans closed due to a power outage. Standing water was reported at the Eaglesticks Golf Course and in other areas of the region. The National Weather Service is investigating a suspected tornado in Highland County near Leesburg which caused some damage but no serious injures. Our area continues under Flash Flood Warning, Flood Watches and Severe Thunderstorms Watches. American Electric Power says 326 customers are without service in Zanesville on Wednesday morning. Power is expected to be restored by 12:00 p.m.
