Scholarships for West Muskingum Seniors

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – West Muskingum 2017 seniors have the possibility to apply for at least four scholarships.
The Pamela Smith Jackson Memorial Scholarship, Nick Tilton Memorial Scholarship, Ashley Cordial Memorial Scholarship, and The Jesse Miller Memorial Scholarship are each different in the application process and requirements, but one aspect is the same in all four.
“The four scholarship applications that are available at the [Muskingum County Community Foundation] for West Muskingum Students,” said Educational Service Director, Heather Sands. “They have been set up by their loved ones or family members because this amazing legacy tribute to their loved ones that have passed on.”
Sands said in many ways each passed away loved one was connected to West Muskingum. The application deadline is by midnight of March 15, 2017 and there are many more scholarships available on mccf.org.
“We’re encouraging all students to check out these applications,” Sands said. “Their requirements are very simple we want to make sure that it’s a student that’s involved in the community, a student that will be going on to pursue higher education and that can be a two-year degree or a four-year degree depending on what their aspirations may be.”
The Muskingum County Community Foundation is extending their hours starting March 6, 2017, they’ll be open from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. According to Sands, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. M.C.C.F. is holding their own ‘March Madness’ so students can use the office laptops, copiers, and other equipment while also making sure each application is done properly.
“We wanted to have kind of open house where students can come in,” Sands said. “They can bring their dinner, friends, and family and just hang out and get their applications done together. The best case scenario, why not work on your scholarship applications while your sharing a pizza with some friends.”
