ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Center for Seniors has started holding an Orthopedic Series for anyone interested.

The Series started today with Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Steven Kimberly talking about Treatment options for arthritis. According to Dr. Kimberly this started when the Orthopedic Associates of Zanesville reached out to the Senior Center on hosting a series for the community to feel open about learning and asking questions.

“A lot of times when people come to talks like this they have a question that they wanted to ask, but they didn’t think of and somebody else will ask it,” Dr. Kimberly said. “So they get a lot of information that otherwise would have required an office visit and really all I do all day when I’m in the office is talk to people anyways.”

The next two sessions will take place on April 6, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. William Allen discussing the ease of joint replacement and June 7, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. James Gasparine who is providing information on causes and treatments for osteoporosis.

“We want our community to be educated, proactive healthcare consumers,”Support Services Director Becky Bruce said. “So by partnering with Orthopedic Associates and other healthcare agencies in Muskingum County we’re able to give them the opportunity to do so.
