ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Foodworks Alliance kitchen hosted another local creation this week.

Alfonso Contrisciani is a Certified Master Chef and the founder of Oliver Farms Ohio LLC. His newest product out of the kitchen is ‘Mammas Basil Pomodoro Sauce’ made with local ingredients.

“It’s all about promoting the local economy and number one its about putting food on the table that we know is safe wholesome and sound for our families and ourselves,” said Contrisciani.

The chef said he aims to increase awareness about clean wholesome eating and said that as a society, we have to go back to more of an all natural diet, to maintain better health.

“I don’t know anybody that doesn’t have one or two people close to them that’s not fighting or battling cancer right now,” said Contrisciani. “A lot of that’s attributed to the chemicals that we’re putting into our body everyday.”

Contrisciani is a big proponent of all natural products, free of pesticides and antibiotics and his farm follows suit with his protein products as well as vegetables and herbs.

He had one suggestion for the community.

“Eat local, know your farmer, live longer.”
