Man Sentenced for Raping Children

A Zanesville man will spend 12-years-to-life behind bars for sexually assaulting multiple children.

35-year-old Carlos Orantes was sentenced by Judge Kelly Cottrill on one count of first-degree-felony rape and two counts of third-degree-felony gross sexual imposition.

According to assistant prosecutor Ron Welch, Orantes assaulted three children from November 2008 to August 2009.

After his sentence is complete Orantes will have to register as a Tier III sex offender and will be subject to reporting every 90 days for life.
