Eva J. Gurnicke, 95 of Zanesville. died, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at her home. She was born Saturday, October 22, 1921 in Cutler.  She was married to Stephen B. Gurnicke who preceded her in death August 10, 1987.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was a devout Catholic. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and going to the beach.  She loved all her animals, especially her dogs.

She is survived by two daughters, Maria Gurnicke and Mary Evans all of Zanesville, one son, Eric (Sue) Gurnicke; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a special friend, Valerie Senig who Eva called her daughter-in-law.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two sons, James and Charles Gurnicke and two sisters, Pauletta and Arlene

Friends may call from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM, Monday, March 20, 2017, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church 925 Main Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Martin Ralko as celebrant.
