Muskingum County Health Department’s 2025 Annual Health Report

2025 Annual Report Final 1

ZANESVILLE, OH – Residents will soon get a closer look at the state of public health in Muskingum County.

The Muskingum County Health Department is preparing to release its 2025 Annual Health Report, which outlines the agency’s work over the past year. The report highlights key public health services including immunizations, disease prevention efforts, and environmental health programs. Officials say while there were concerns about potential measles cases in 2025, the largest outbreaks were actually seen in local schools.

“Our largest outbreak was actually hand, foot, and mouth disease in our schools. We had a number of outbreaks that are staff addressed and worked with the schools and the families to make sure that they could get the children proper care and to prevent that disease from spreading in the school as much as possible.” Muskingum County Health Commissioner, Corey Hamilton said.

Health officials say making the report available to the public helps residents better understand local health trends, learn about available resources, and stay informed about ways to protect themselves and their families.

“It gives you all the data for things that are going well and the things that aren’t going so well.  When we come together with partners across the entire community, we can help the schools do a better job at educating children because we’re sending healthy children to school. We can help businesses do what they need to do because we’re sending health employees to work.” Hamilton said.

The 2025 Annual Health report will be available on the Muskingum County Health Department’s website and Facebook page.
