Local Church prepares meals for Soldiers

Zanesville, Ohio- A local church is helping send off the troops stationed in McConnellsville tomorrow.
The Rolling Plains United Methodist Church is packing lunches to give to the troops. Around 40 volunteers took part in making and packing the meals today. Lead Pastor, John Alice, explains this was part of their monthly mission in motion.
“One of the things we have in our church is a monthly admission initiative called mission in motion. Mission in motion exists to partner with local agencies like Habitat for Humanity and in this case the unit from McConnelsville and other things throughout the year in order to be a blessing to our community.”
Alice notes one of the families of the church actually has a son in the McConnelsville Unit.
“We have a family, the Lambert Family, that actually attends our church, he is going to be deployed for a year, he is part of the McConnelsville Unit and we felt it in our hearts this would be a perfect opportunity for the month of march to be able to pack some meals for these three hundred troops that are going to be leaving and honoring them and helping them with just a small meal to fill their bellies while they are riding on that bus on the way to their assignments.”
Alice says they cherish the opportunity to bless those who go oversees to defend our freedoms.
