Rosecrans’ Gibson moves on to Muskingum

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Rosecrans boys soccer coach Roderick Gibson announced he is stepping down as head coach to become a volunteer assistant coach at Muskingum University.
During his time at Rosecrans, Gibson led the Bishops to two district championships, two regional crowns and was the only team in the East District to make a state appearance.
“It’s all because of the hard work of the boys that we were able to accomplish what we did. It was pleasantly surprising to see the success we had,” Gibson said.
In 2015, Gibson was named ECOL Coach of the Year as well as East District Coach of the Year. Gibson will now try and obtain the same success at the college level. The Muskies finished last season 4-14-1.
“I got to run my first practice this past week. They got to know me and I got to know them,” Gibson said. “It was ten minutes of pleasantry then it was time to get to work.”
The Muskies open the 2017 season against Trine.
