Suspect Arrested After Gunfire Strikes Semi on I-70 in Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — A Zanesville man has been arrested and is facing multiple felony charges following a shooting on Interstate 70.

Zanesville police say on March 22, a semi-truck was struck by gunfire from another motorist while traveling eastbound. The bullet entered the cab where the driver was seated, but no injuries were reported. Following an investigation, officers used camera technology and surveillance footage from downtown businesses to identify a suspect.

A search warrant was later executed at a home on Burkart Road, where Robert Knight, 72, was taken into custody. Authorities say firearms, a suspected vehicle and other evidence were recovered. Knight was charged with attempted murder, felonious assault and multiple firearm-related offenses. He is currently being held in the Zanesville City Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned March 25 in Zanesville Municipal Court.
