ZANESVILLE, OH – Zanesville City Schools are getting ready for their annual Hall of Fame Banquet.

The Zanesville City Schools Hall of Fame was started in 2007, with the following school year seeing the induction of the first class of Honorees.

Laura Tompkins, the Superintendent of the ZCS, said most schools only honor their former athletes, but at Zanesville they select alumni that have made significant strides in adulthood.

“We have a collective Hall of Fame, so you don’t have to be an athlete to get into our Hall of Fame.” Tompkins said. “We have musicians, we have magicians, we have lawyers, athletes, so we are an all inclusive Hall of Fame.”

This year’s Hall of Fame Banquet will be on Saturday, April 18th at 6PM in the Zanesville High School Cafetorium.

Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the Zanesville Administrative Center, located at 956 Moxahala Ave.

“We have a wonderful dinner planned, our Chef Steven, will be doing the banquet.” Tompkins said. “We have braised short ribs with some risotto and a little salad and a wonderful dessert, so we’re very excited for the dinner.”

The ZCS Hall of Fame Inductees are as followed:

Josephine Sebach, Class of 1923.

Jack Cohen, Class of 1941.
