ZANESVILLE, OH – Some new friends have moved into the neighborhood down on Muskingum Avenue.

Two new businesses have taken the empty spaces left by Pea Ohana Watersports and BunkoJess.

Alex Campbell is the Owner of Underground Wars Y City and decided to come to the Zanesville area after seeing success at his Newark location.

“We have one in Newark and I have a lot of family in Zanesville.” Campbell said. “Ward approached me about this and it sounded like a good thing for Zanesville. I like to [be] in communities I belong or have had a part of. It’s a Nerf and Gel Blaster arena, it’s 8,000 square feet of fun. Basically, you come in, you pick a gun, and we do parties, all kinds of fun stuff. Once we get more established, we’ll be doing open Nerf.”

You will also see Campbell’s dog Rory on the signs as well as running a tight ship behind the check out counter.

Dalton and Peggy Hardwick are the Owners of Hardwick’s Furnishings and are located in the upstairs space of the Mitzel Building.

Dalton says they have a passion for the city and bringing old furniture a new life. He added that they will be open in time for the April First Friday Artwalk and will have an art wall for people to peruse.

“Our business is essentially described as a vintage furniture store.” Hardwick said. “But we offer antiques, decor, collectibles, all those things people live and pass time. So we want to give things a new life, a new home, new stories.”

You can still find Jay and Lori Wince at Weasel Boy Brewing Company, Kelly Wiler at Girl UpCycled, as well as check out the Farmer’s Market before it moves for the Summer.
