Christ’s Table kicks off hunger network campaign

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Christ’s Table in Zanesville is kicking off their hunger network campaign by asking people to sing for their supper.
The ‘Sing for Their Supper’ event will feature dinner and a show, and proceeds will benefit the Muskingum County Hunger Network’s Operation Feed campaign.
Keely Warden, Executive Director of Christ’s Table, said the show will feature local entertainers.
“The show is $5 and then we will be feeding everybody a spaghetti dinner. Spaghetti, all the trimmings, the salad, the garlic bread and all that good stuff, that’s homemade by local volunteers here in the community,” said Warden.
The event is Friday, April 7th at North Terrace Church of Christ at 1420 Brandywine Blvd. Dinner will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the show will start at 5:30 p.m.
Warden said this event will be the first of many for their two-month campaign that will help those in need locally.
“Operation Feed benefits the 15 food pantries the 4 hot meal programs and the special need pantry here in Muskingum County that provided nearly 900-thousand meals last year, in just the calendar year, that we served families right here in Muskingum County,” said Warden.
Warden said she wants to remind everyone that Operation Feed is a local campaign serving local people.
“All the money that’s generated through this campaign this year will be invested back into this community. So every dollar that’s raised will be spent right here at local stores to help the families that are in need,” said Warden.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at Christ’s Table. They will also be available at the door. For more information or to inquire about volunteer opportunities contact Christ’s Table at (740) 452-9766.
