Cowboys Vs. Outlaws

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Appalachian Ohio is gearing up for their biggest fundraiser of the year.

BBBSAO Administration and Development Manager Julie Schroeder talked about the upcoming annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake that will take place at the Sunrise Bowling Center and feature a wild west theme.

“We do it every year to raise money for our one to one mentoring programs,” Schroeder said. “We are actually in five counties, so we’ve got a lot of kids that we serve. And all of the money that we raise at Bowl For Kids’ Sake goes to support all of our programs. 100 percent goes to that.” Schroeder said. “We provide pizza and drinks and we have a caricature artist there this year and we have some games and music. It’s really just fun.”

Schroeder said there are still a few spots available for teams to register for the April 15th through 17th event.

“This year’s theme is Cowboys Versus Outlaws,” Schroeder said. “ So the whole bowling alley is going to be decked out in you know, this whole western theme. We will have a DJ, DJ Kurtus will be there doing the music, trivia, games throughout the night, 50/50. Texas Roadhouse is going to be there, they’re going to have a Plinko game set up. Just all kinds of really cool things for people to do while they’re there. It’s just so much fun. Like you have to come and try it. It’s a lot of fun, there’s so much to do.”

Bowling teams can register online, by phone or by visiting their office located on the corner of Seventh and Main Streets in Zanesville.
