2017 Bowl for Kids Sake

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The 2017 Bowl for Kids Sake started off with a Strike.
Today was the first day of community teams bowling in the largest fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Executive Director, Jenni Masterson said this is their biggest fundraiser of the year and helps provide funds for their programs.

“We are a United Way agency and we’re a non-profit agency,” Masterson said. “So this helps us cover all of our costs for matching the kids. We serve over 200 kids a year so it’s really great to have the support from everyone.”
Bowl for Kids Sake is a national benefit, which Masterson explained Big Brothers Big Sisters throughout the country host their benefits around the same time.
“It’s really fun to be a part of that,” said Masterson.
So far Big Brothers Big Sisters has 131 teams registered for Bowl for Kids sake. The funds they’ve already received have already helped those waiting to get into their big little program.
“We just recently have had four big a little matches just made,” Masterson said. “So it’s about $1,000 to support each match and so we’re just excited to be able to see these new matches get started, then grow in our system.”
Bowl for Kids Sake will take place two more days on Saturday April 8, 2017 and Wednesday April 12, 2017 at Sunrise Strikes. Teams can still register to bowl, for more information call Big Brothers Big Sisters, (740) 453-7300.
