2 suspects still wanted in shooting of Newcomerstown officer

NEWCOMERSTOWN, Ohio- Two suspects are still at large after a shooting involving a Tuscarawas County officer.

According to Newcomerstown Police Department at 10:08 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11th, Officer Bryan J. Eubanks conducted a traffic stop on a Black Geo Tracker that had no visible license plate. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer was shot at twice by a white male passenger; sustaining only one gun shot wound to the arm.

The two occupants of the vehicle fled the scene and remain at large. Authorities said they are considered armed and dangerous.

The passenger was wearing a lime green shirt with a vest, and the driver was described as a white male wearing a red shirt.

The vehicle is believed to still be involved and has tinted windows and black rims with no visible license plate.

Officer Eubanks was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.  Police say he is expected to make a full recovery.

The original suspect, Chaz Gillilan, was cleared and released.

Police say do not try to apprehend suspects, and to contact local law enforcement.
