Rogers Named ArtCOZ Artist of the Month for April

ZANESVILLE, OH – Ed Rogers has been named the ArtCOZ Artist of the Month for April.
He said he drew inspiration for this show from old spaghetti Western Movies featuring Clint Eastwood and the like.
He was really drawn to one movie scene in particular which served as the muse for many of the pieces he has on display.
“I was watching “The Quick and Dead” with Sharon Stone and there’s a shot of her, standing in the desert, you know, with her hat on and there’s a big shadow cast across [her] and I go, yea that’s what I want to do!” Rogers said. “So I’m really doing a lot of contrast work and showing strong, powerful, iconic women.”
He said it’s humbling to be named as the Artist of the Month but also a great honor.
Rogers’ work will be on display at Cole’s Aircraft and Aviation Art Studio, located at 616 Main St. in Zanesville, from 5 to 8 PM this Friday for the First Friday Artwalk.
“There’s a little bit of everything!” Rogers said. “There’s gamblers, there’s skulls smoking cigars, there are roses. I like to play with strength and tenderness, like a rose paired with a revolver, you know, give it a little contrast.”
If you’d like to see more of Rogers’ works, you can head to his Facebook page called Titan Productions.
