YMCA Looking For Outstanding Women Nominations

If you know of an outstanding woman in our community now is the time to nominate her for recognition.

This is the 22nd year the Muskingum Family YMCA has held the women of achievement awards. The YMCA is currently taking nominations in several different areas.

"Healthcare, education, professions, management, business, young adult and we also have the bright futures which is through the Muskingum County Community Youth Foundation," says Craig Miracle, Executive Director of Muskingum County YMCA.
 

Nomination forms can be found at the "MCMFY Website" link above.  Miracle says a selection committee made up of community members and past recipients will determine the winners. He says the committee takes into account various criteria when selecting a winner.

"How much are they involved in the community in terms of giving back, what type of role model are they? You know, how have they influenced women and cultural diversity," tells Miracle.

He says the committee may also select a lifetime achievement winner. But that award is only given to a woman who has made a tremendous impact on the community, therefore it is not given every year. Nominations will close February 19th and the winners will be recognized at a banquet in April.
