Two Charged in Mail Theft

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office said they believe they’ve caught two people responsible for stealing mail.
Authorities said Aaron Hupp and Dakota Paige Oyer, both of Newark, are believed to be responsible for dozens of thefts and have admitted their involvement to cashing fraudulent checks and taking mail.
They’ve been charged with felony theft and felony forgery.
Other persons are also being looked at as potential suspects for being accomplices to these crimes, but no charges have been filed at this time.
The sheriff’s office said over the last several weeks, multiple victims over a wide area of the county have filed reports with the sheriff’s office or other law enforcement agencies about missing/stolen mail from their mailboxes.
